  • About the Author

If one judges by the care shown for composing as a prerequisite of his each compositional attempt, Josipović certainly remains true to Horvat's teaching. However, it can also be noted that this composer has departed from his role model in a certain way, because somewhere along the margins of a distinctive formal pattern, he has always squeezed in some ingenious ideas, joy in music and enthusiasm about the artistic process. This feature can be easily recognized in his compositions, such as 'Samba da camera', for thirteen strings or a string orchestra (1985), A 'Drmesh for Penderecki', for tambouritza orchestra (1986), or 'Dernek', for two pianos and strings (1988).Josipović won the Presidential election held on the 10th of January 2010.He was sworn into Office on the 18th of February 2010.
